Sulfass - a kiss of death when life bestowed jubilation...
Another must read story, with a suitable title, from the popular writer Dr. Govind Madhaw.
'Sulfass' is an amazing amalgmation of emotions, passion, love, duty, sorrows and joys, life and death. It revolves around the life of a doctor, who after losing all hopes from personal life, finds solace in his profession. Other characters include an aesthetic face fighting at the oblivion of quietus, and a loving couple who are deceived by joys. While dancing to the tunes of fate the characters meet at a crossroad.

Tangled in the cobwebs of his married life the doctor gets infatuated by the girl who is a case of sulfass poisoning. A case of suicide that is described as a social faliure. The characters need of language is overpowered by the flood of emotions. The exquisite sentiments are bona fied by an untitled authority to bestow warmth. प्रेम अभिव्यक्ति का मोहताज़ नहीं होता मगर प्रेम अधिकार चाहता है. The dreams are an ideal representation of characters moving from doom to be an indomitable spirit.
Running in a parallel axis is another couple in hospital. A wife with a severe postpartum blood loss who struggles with life due to which an air of melancholy surrounds her husband. His songs are heart breaking and soul churning. The picturisation of this character reminds the reader that plantonic affection is not just a word of books. Equilty of situations faced by the doctor and husband is evident.
The writer has aptly focused on the social loopholes and poor execution of government policies. The metaphors and similies are self explanatory of the situations that characters are dealing with. Choice of words are reader's treat. This personifies the characters. The end presents the choreographed confusion of a real farce. The story creates irresistible temptations to drown in thoughts. It is impossible to pen down the upheaval of emotions that one faces while reading. Best experienced when read by self!!!
